At first I thought it wouldn't hold enough nectar to be worthwhile, so I bought a bigger one. I was always throwing away most of what was in the bigger one! This way I can make my own sugar water and it lasts for about days, which is all that it should before replacing it. The suction cup sticks well to the window - wet it slightly when you first hang it up and push it against the glass to create a good seal. I didn't try the hook or the stand yet, but its nice to have the flexibility.

Based on the fact there are so many varied designs of hummingbird feeders out there to choose, it's obvious there doesn't seem to be a perfect hummingbird feeder.
I have four of these feeders. I also have several other styles which have been used over the years but due to problems ranging from leaking, cracking, hard to open, birds never used, etc. I have never even attempted to use the window suction cup mount. Over time though I changed to using the method of mounting the feeder on a stake or rod exclusively, not because of problem but for other reasons.
I have never used the provided three sections of tubing, having made my own method of suspending the feeder on top of a shepherd's crook with great effectiveness. This was done by welding a stud or stob on top of the arch of the crook, which holds the feeder in place at a height of four to five feet off the ground. This stake pocket creates a lot of possibilities in how and where you can use this feeder and is the primary reason I like it so much.
Regarding the bottom of the saucer where the stake or rod is inserted. It is essentially a recessed tapered pocket molded into the bottom of the saucer. Another thing I like is the saucer doesn't hold a lot of water. I change it fairly often especially when it get hot. It holds a cup or less of water. A small but important detail worth mentioning regarding the hanging method: The hooked hanging rod is metal as you might expect.
That metal rod screws into the top of the feeder. The threaded piece that receives the hanging rod is brass which is pressed into the top of the feeder. This might not seem like a big deal but that small detail of using a brass bushing is what prevents rust from eventually rendering the feeder useless when using the hanging rod.
I will include an image of the pressed brass bushing. By bedobe on May 29, Update--After using this feeder for a couple months the cover to it has started warping and it is difficult to get off and on the base. Maybe from the heat outside or soaking in hot water regular hot tap water. Trying a different brand for replacement hopefully with thicker cover. I'm bummed. This is a super cute feeder. Update I noticed with this feeder the newer version that the hummingbirds were not landing on the perches around the feeder.
I thought this was odd, but thought maybe the birds just didn't feel like landing. I have since replaced and realized right away that the birds are now landing and taking a break between feeding. I think the spacing and maybe downward slant of the perches around this particular feeder are not positioned where the birds are comfortable landing.
It's still early in the season but I want to be ready. I did get a different product than pictured, but made by the same brand with the same name, so maybe they have a new version.
This is a great size for the corner that gets afternoon sun, so it'll have to replaced and washed often in the summer heat. I originally purchased this to use the window suction before I realized that my screen covers the window top to bottom in the house we just moved into this winter. I appreciate there was a hook and pole included so I could rethink my plan. I love having feeders where I can see them outside my office window while I work.

See all. The bottles of the B feeder are glass while the base and lid are plastic. I have had this model BBB for many years. Unfortunately the perch railing has fallen apart, a little more each year. It is now broken beyond repair and needs to be replaced.
